Gap Incorporation 2 Folsom St. San Francisco, CA 94105 650-952-4400 mailto:Global_Integrity@gap.com Dear Gap Incorporation, I am customer who has purchased productions at your stores for several years. The April 2013 tragedy in Bangladesh where 1,129 mostly young women workers were killed, and thousands more injured has made it necessary for me to know whether the purchases I make contribute to the suffering of garment workers. I cannot, in good conscience, purchase clothing made by workers in dangerous and cruel working conditions. I will not buy clothing made by workers who are paid what amounts to a "starvation wage" of 12 to 24 cents an hour. I have read the Social Responsibility Supply Chain Information provided on your corporate website. In particular, I ask to be informed of the efforts Gap is making in Bangladesh since the Rana Plaza disaster. Please include concrete examples of achievements GAP has realized at the 78 factories you contract with. I would also like to know if GAP has signed the Accord on Building and Fire Safety and the reasoning associated with your decision. Further, I encourage GAP to share these examples with your customers and the public at large. Shoppers, like myself, are likely to reward GAP for results--- even if it means paying more. Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to your reply so that I can consider my shopping options. Sincerely,
